Hello!
However it is that you came to be here,
I'm glad you found me.
and were intrigued;
maybe the idea of doing the Camino has been planted in your heart
for years
and you're wondering
if NOW is the time;
maybe you've got your plane tickets and plans firmly in hand
and are simply scouring the internet
for more packing lists
to see what other pilgrims have taken with them.
I've been there -
right where you are -
at all those stages of
intrigue,
wondering
and
planning.
It wasn't that long ago,
but it feels like it was in another lifetime.
but it feels like it was in another lifetime.
April 2014,
the month
the month
I left for my Camino.
MY life has not -
nor will it ever -
be the same again.
If you're curious about the HOW and WHY someone -
especially someone over 60 -
would undertake this particular challenge,
I'd suggest you start at the beginning.

If you just want a packing list,

If you want to follow the day by day journey
start here
To go to the next entry,
wherever you start,
just hit "newer post" and it will advance to the next page.
Maybe this is old news on how to use a blog for all you youngsters,
but I was surprised at how many of my friends
had NO clue about how to use this form of communication.
OK, I wasn't really surprised -
we're throwbacks,
troglodytes...
we talk to each other,
in person,
meet for lunch and dinner,
not email or text!
But I want to share my story.
I want to plant the seed
for people of ALL ages;
believe me,
if I can walk the Camino de Santiago,
if I can finally scratch the itch that had been growing in my soul
and undertake this quixotic adventure,
then so can YOU!
Your story,
your motivation
will be different than mine;
but I can assure you,
your life will never be the same afterwards.
If you're at all like me,
that's a good thing!
Enjoy.
Buen Camino!
